“The Centennial Mitigated Agreement submitted to the Antelope Valley Union High School District Board of Trustees for approval consideration was constructed over a 17-month period with the hard work of District staff and representatives from Centennial Founders, LLC. Both parties can be justifiably proud of this sophisticated agreement. It represents the culmination of a great deal of thought, careful construction, and references the many complex factors required to create such a comprehensive document. District staff wishes to thank the representatives from Centennial Founders, LLC, and their technical and legal representatives in crafting this Agreement. Their vision, insight, and willingness to listen to District perspectives were key in crafting this historic Agreement. The mitigation language ensures that the master planned community of Centennial will have quality schools to match the vision Centennial Founders have put before the public. It also protects the interests of the Antelope Valley Union High School District and creates a funding model to build future educational facilities that will be needed by students as the community takes form and comes to life.
“The high school district is pleased to report that by a unanimous 5-0 vote the Board of Trustees moved to adopt the Mitigated Agreement in its final form on January 21, 2009. The Agreement paves the way for future students, staff, school officials, and the citizens of Centennial to receive two future high quality secondary schools that will be a set piece in the community of Centennial for decades to come.”
-Jeff Foster, Deputy Superintendent of the Antelope Valley Union High School District

“Centennial would be a tremendous benefit to those of us living in the West Antelope Valley, particularly those needing better access to emergency and medical services. We also look forward to the convenience of nearby stores and restaurants so we don't have to travel all the way down the hill to enjoy a nice dinner or go grocery shopping."
